Fans of “General Hospital” are voicing their displeasure regarding Kelly Monaco’s exit from the long-running show.

Monaco has been portraying Sam McCall in Port Charles since 2003 and is scheduled to make her final appearance this fall, as confirmed by YSL News on Tuesday.

Following the announcement of the “Dancing with the Stars” contestant’s departure, her fans took to social media platforms like X and Instagram to express their discontent with the decision.

The two-time Daytime Emmy nominee began her journey as Livvie Locke in the spin-off series “Port Charles” before joining “GH” and has become a beloved character among fans. Originally, she claimed the inaugural Mirrorball Trophy on the first season of “DWTS” in 2005 with her partner, Alec Mazo.

She later participated in the all-star season in 2012 with professional dancer Val Chmerkovskiy, finishing in third place.

On X, viewers criticized Frank Valentini, the executive producer of the ABC soap, stating, “Imagine if Kelly Monaco is rehired and Frank gets fired. Poetic justice.”

One user on X remarked: “Kelly Monaco did NOTHING to deserve this, and that’s all I have to say.” Another added, “Kelly Monaco has been consistently disrespected by Frank, Varni, & their writing crew for YEARS. She is often sidelined, and for what reason? It’s not like Sam (McCall) lacks story material.”

Another commenter expressed frustration: “The amount of disrespect Kelly Monaco and many of the female cast members receive is absurd. This is terrible. Sam is an exceptional character, and the poor handling by the writers is the reason for this outcome. Fix this!”
