Kelly Osbourne reveals Slipknot’s Sid Wilson ‘set himself on fire’ in Instagram video from the hospital
Kelly Osbourne is cautioning social media users after her partner, Sid Wilson from Slipknot, had an accident involving “burn piles.”
On Friday, Osbourne shared a video on her Instagram story featuring herself with their baby while Wilson was being treated in a hospital behind her. She issued a profanity-laden alert to her 2.7 million followers.
Osbourne advised fans not to play around “with burn piles,” adding, “He literally set himself on fire and blew up everything.” Along with this, she shared a picture of herself and their child, Sidney, who was playing and chatting in the clip, adorned with a sticker that said, “I have no words.”
In her Instagram video, she expressed, “Good morning, everyone. I just want to take a moment to thank everyone for their kind messages and prayers for Sid; he is improving a lot. Actually, we are on our way to pick him up from the hospital right now.”
Osbourne mentioned she would provide another update soon, but noted that Wilson “is still in a lot of pain.” This incident came after more joyful family moments earlier in the week.
On Thursday, Osbourne posted a video of their son, Sidney, born in late 2022, having fun and “partying with the animals.” The clip seemed to be filmed at what followers speculated to be Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines, Iowa. The cheerful video featured Ozzy Osbourne’s 1991 hit “Party with the Animals” as its soundtrack.
‘I will see you on tour’: Sid Wilson guarantees readiness for Slipknot tour
Shortly after, Wilson shared his own video clips from the incident on Instagram, seemingly documenting the same worrying moment captured by Osbourne.
“I had an explosion in my face,” he stated, revealing in his post, “But I’m going to be okay; I did receive some serious burns on my face and arms.”
He went on to say, “They’re currently doing X-rays on my chest to ensure I didn’t inhale any flames,” and assured fans, “I’m determined to see you on tour.” Wilson also mentioned he had mouth blisters, burns on his arms, and noted that his lips were very swollen, explaining that he had previously injured a finger during the 2024 holidays.
A post from Slipknot’s Instagram account on Friday stated, “Our brother Sid Wilson was involved in an accident today, causing burns over his body. He is recovering with his family and will still perform with us at Rocklahoma next weekend.” The band is scheduled to play at the music festival in Pryor, Oklahoma, on Sept. 1 as part of their Here Comes The Pain tour.
Osbourne candid about couple’s arguments
Osbourne, visibly concerned in the hospital video, has previously shared insights into the couple’s conflicts. Back in February, she talked about changing their son’s last name following a significant argument with Wilson about the decision.
On “The Osbournes Podcast,” the “One Word” singer, 39, revealed that she and Wilson had a “huge” disagreement about naming their son, Sidney. She wanted to give their child both their last names, but Wilson refused, according to Osbourne.
“I felt compelled to make a choice that I wasn’t comfortable with, and I can never forgive him for that, but we’re moving forward,” Osbourne stated.
