Jeep Wrangler ditches manual windows, marking the end of an era for automakers Compared to the original Jeep — you know, the military vehicle — the 2025 Wrangler JL is a spaceship, even though by modern standards it's a very old-school vehicle when compared to, say, the Ford Bronco or Toyota 4Runner. Analysis of Week 0 in College Football: Florida State vs. Georgia Tech

If the idea of Week 0 seems odd, consider this – by the conclusion of Week 1, some teams from the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) will already have played two games, including a couple of conference matchups.

Despite the unusual situation, Week 0 brings us a short list of only four games with FBS teams. For die-hard fans, this early kickoff to the season will surely be exciting. Here’s a brief overview of the upcoming Saturday game schedule.

No. 10 Florida State vs. Georgia Tech in Dublin, noon ET, ESPN

Kicking off the day, Florida State and Georgia Tech are set to dive straight into ACC competition across the Atlantic. This matchup marks the first of back-to-back conference games for FSU, who will welcome Boston College for a matchup on Labor Day to wrap up Week 1. Florida State stands as the only ranked team playing on opening day and is favored to win, yet Georgia Tech managed a few surprising wins last season and possesses enough talent to keep the game competitive. Both defenses might have an advantage early on. Newly recruited Florida State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei and a revamped group of receivers will face a formidable Georgia Tech secondary led by DB Clayton Powell-Lee. Meanwhile, Yellow Jackets QB Haynes King comes into this season with a year of experience but will contend with a tough pass rush from FSU, featuring DE Patrick Payton.

Montana State at New Mexico, 4 p.m. ET, FS1

The Lobos will kick off their season against Montana State as one of three Mountain West teams at home in Week 0. New Mexico aims to start the Bronco Mendenhall era positively. However, they are likely to face tough competition from the Bobcats, who are perennial playoff contenders in the FCS and are ranked fourth in the preseason coaches poll. Montana State excels in their rushing game, notably with mobile QB Tommy Mellott. However, it could be challenging to gain yards against the Lobos’ defense, even though it has been revamped. New Mexico’s offense will rely on QB Devon Dampier, with wide receiver Caleb Medford poised for a breakout season.

SMU at Nevada, 8 p.m. ET, CBSSN

Among the Mountain West teams competing this Saturday, Nevada will be the only one hosting another Bowl Subdivision team. The Mustangs begin their new chapter in the ACC with their first road game. Although Nevada isn’t predicted to be a strong contender in the MWC, any struggles from SMU could raise concerns among fans, even in an away game. Returning QB Preston Stone could help alleviate these worries if he can guide the Mustangs to a strong start.

Delaware State at Hawaii, 11:59 p.m. ET

This game will only be available for streaming, and Rainbow Warrior fans are hoping for a smooth start as Timmy Chang begins his third season at Hawaii. Nevertheless, the team must remember when Howard, another MEAC team, achieved a historic upset against Mountain West’s UNLV back in 2017. Nonetheless, Hawaii will aim to secure a decisive win ahead of their upcoming game against UCLA next week, especially considering the travel challenges Delaware State faced en route to Honolulu.
