Kristin Cavallari reveals her children are unaware of a past home invasion
Kristin Cavallari has opened up about a frightening experience involving a home intruder.
On a recent episode of her podcast, “Let’s Be Honest,” titled “A Man Crawling On My Bedroom Floor,” she candidly recounted the shocking event when she discovered a man crawling in her bedroom. She mentioned that her “kids still don’t know about this to this day.”
This incident took place during the COVID-19 pandemic while Cavallari and her family were vacationing in the Bahamas and had to stay indoors due to the coronavirus regulations.
At that time, she was still married to her ex-husband Jay Cutler, a former NFL quarterback, with whom she has three children: Camden, 12, Jaxon, 10, and Saylor, 9.
Cavallari explained to her listeners that their HVAC system malfunctioned, prompting them to call technicians for repairs. She noted that she had left jewelry from her Uncommon James line in the closet, which she suspects may have attracted the intruder.
She recalled, “That night, Camden was sleeping in bed with me. We went to sleep early.” Cavallari said, “I woke up to find a man crawling on the floor of my bedroom,” and added that she was disoriented after just waking up.
Continuing her story, Cavallari said, “The man stood up and bolted out the door, wearing a ski mask and all-black clothing.” She shared how, since Camden was beside her, she didn’t scream or yell despite thinking that would be her instinct. Instead, she felt like a “NAVY Seal” in that moment.
She became aware of the seriousness of the event when she woke up Cutler, mentioning that telling him made her “very anxious.”
The star from “The Hills” shared that she opted not to inform their children about the incident, fearing it would upset them, describing it as “one of the scariest experiences of my life.”
In summary, she revealed, “He took a backpack with all the cash we had, but we eventually got it back after discovering the intruder was the HVAC technician.” Cavallari mentioned that she would likely wait until her kids are adults before discussing the incident, believing that they “don’t need to hear about” such frightening experiences.
