Lainey Wilson Kicks Off Her Whataburger Ambassadorship with Free Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits!

Lainey Wilson’s first act as Whataburger ambassador: free Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits

Lainey Wilson, the country music sensation, has fond memories of Whataburger from her childhood. As their new brand ambassador, she’s offering her favorite meal— a Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit— for free on Tuesday, January 28.

Lainey Wilson is one of the coolest figures in country music today, and Whataburger has always had a special connection with the Grammy-winning artist.

It’s no surprise that the growing Texas burger chain would team up with Wilson, who reminisces about her small-town life in Louisiana, where nights often ended at Whataburger with friends.

On Friday, Whataburger announced Wilson’s ambassadorship for 2025, highlighting in a press release how “Lainey’s unique style and genuine charm align perfectly with Whataburger’s unforgettable flavors and warm hospitality – a perfect pair from the South.”

Lainey Wilson: ‘Any time is a good time’ for Whataburger’s honey butter chicken biscuit

Just as Wilson and her friends would end their late-night drives at Whataburger, the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit has now become her go-to snack after shows, she shared with YSL News.

To kick off their partnership, Whataburger is giving away free Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits on Tuesday, January 28, from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., available for both in-store and drive-thru orders (no purchase necessary, limited to one per person, while supplies last).

“There’s never a bad time to grab one,” Wilson remarked. “If I were on death row and asked what I wanted, that would be on my list.”

Regarding her role as Whataburger’s brand ambassador, Wilson expressed pride in the partnership, saying, “This feels like a full circle moment for me and brings back so many fond memories.”

The reigning Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year— who also snagged the Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year title in 2023 and co-hosted the 2024 event— has finally found some time to relax.

“I got about a month to unwind, put my feet up, and truly reflect on everything that has happened in the past few years,” Wilson, who also stars in the TV series “Yellowstone,” said.

Wilson preparing for the Grammys and new music

As for Wilson, she’s heading to the Grammys, set for February 2 in Los Angeles, where her album “Whirlwind” is nominated for Best Country Album. She has described the devastating wildfires affecting the area as “completely heartbreaking.” “My team and I are figuring out how we can assist,” she added.

Reflecting on the year in the U.S., she noted, “It’s been a series of natural disasters. It really changes your perspective, but I genuinely believe that music is a source of healing. I can’t imagine how I would have coped without it during tough times.”

Looking ahead, Wilson has European tour dates lined up for March. “I’ve toured there before, and this will be my sixth or seventh trip. I love going over; it’s exciting to see how country music is embraced worldwide. I feel proud to be part of this era of country music because it’s thriving. The storytelling in our music resonates with so many people.”

She is also busy creating new music. “I have some projects in the works,” she shared.

When it was pointed out that she mentioned a rival fast-food chain (Sonic) in her song “Live Off” from the 2022 album “Bell Bottom Country,” it was suggested that writing about Whataburger might prove more challenging.

“The beauty of being a country singer-songwriter is that I can make even ‘dog’ and ‘cat’ rhyme,” she said with a smile. “I’m sure we’ll come up with something for ‘Whataburger.'”
