Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers Set to Play at Home on Monday Despite Ongoing Wildfires
NBA basketball is making its return to Los Angeles after a series of games were postponed due to severe wildfires affecting the region.
The Lakers and Clippers are ready to host their respective games shortly after the fires have led to the tragic loss of 24 lives. The Lakers’ home games are held at Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles, while the Clippers play at the newly constructed Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
Lakers head coach JJ Redick is one of many who have felt the fires’ impact, suffering the loss of his rental home in Pacific Palisades. The Palisades Fire has emerged as the most damaging, engulfing over 23,000 acres, according to Cal Fire reports.
What is the Lakers’ Upcoming Game Schedule?
LeBron James and the Lakers are set to face Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs on Monday at Crypto.com Arena.
“I hope this nightmare comes to an end soon!” James expressed on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
The Lakers had games against the Charlotte Hornets and the Spurs rescheduled due to the wildfires last week.
Clippers’ Upcoming Game Schedule
Norman Powell and the Clippers will welcome the Miami Heat on Monday.
After a four-day hiatus from playing, the Clippers will have three games lined up over the next four days, following a postponed game against the Hornets last weekend.
