Lidl recalls buttered vegetables due to undeclared milk allergen: Check affected states

Lidl has issued a recall for certain buttered vegetable products over the presence of undeclared milk in the ingredients.

On Friday, Lidl U.S. announced the recall, stating that they have not received any illness reports linked to these products.

The affected product is the Taste of Deutschland Buttered Vegetables, which are frozen and include options like carrots, peas, cauliflower, and corn. The absence of milk on the label poses a risk to individuals with milk allergies, who could face severe or potentially fatal allergic reactions.

The recalled products are packaged in 10 ½ ounce boxes with the UPC number 4 056489 122876, as noted by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.

Which states are impacted by the recall?

These products were distributed from October 21, 2023, to December 19, 2024, to Lidl locations in Delaware, Washington D.C., Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia, as reported by Lidl and the FDA.

Lidl provides full refunds without requiring a receipt

The FDA found that the product labels did not specify the presence of milk.

If you have purchased the Taste of Deutschland Buttered Vegetables, you are advised not to consume the product and return it to any Lidl store for a complete refund, with no receipt necessary.

For further inquiries regarding the voluntary recall, customers can contact the Lidl U.S. Customer Care Hotline at (844)-747-5435, available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time, Monday to Saturday.

Lidl stated in their announcement on the FDA’s website, “The health and safety of our customers is our top priority. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this voluntary recall. Our Quality Assurance Department is continuously working to ensure that all products on our shelves adhere to the high-quality standards we expect for our families.”
