Revolutionizing Healthcare: The Future of Point-of-Care Testing with Innovative Bioluminescent Immunosensors

A novel nanobody-based immunosensor, designed to function stably in undiluted biological fluids and harsh conditions, has been developed. Their innovative design leverages BRET -- bioluminescence resonance energy transfer -- and exhibits great potential for point-of-care testing, therapeutic drug monitoring, and environmental applications using paper-based devices. Lynn Williams Seeks Replacement for Shattered Olympic Gold Medal

Lynn Williams has damaged her gold medal and is requesting a replacement from the IOC.

Lynn Williams, who secured a gold medal in Paris, humorously describes her award as now having become “the world’s priciest coaster.”

As a vital part of the U.S. women’s national team (USWNT) during the Olympic games, Williams contributed significantly, coming off the bench in all six matches held in France. The player from Gotham FC netted one goal, which helped seal a 4-1 victory against Germany in the group stage.

Following the team’s spectacular 1-0 win over Brazil in the Olympic final, the USWNT indulged in exciting celebrations. In the midst of the festivities, Williams unintentionally broke the band from her medal.

On TikTok, Williams shared how the mishap occurred.

She clarified that a video showing her swinging the medal was not the cause of its breakage. Instead, she recounted that it happened during a lively team dance.

“I had it hanging like a purse on my shoulder while dancing, and then I jumped,” she explained. “When I landed, it just came off. Everyone was dancing, and I was scrambling to pick my medal off the floor. It now has a dent, so it’s definitely unique.”

Instead of simply accepting the idea of having a one-of-a-kind medal, Williams has sought a replacement from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

“I’m not sure if I’ll repair it,” Williams mentioned. “Right now, we’re waiting for a response from the IOC. They indicated I might get a replacement. I had to show them proof of the damage, but we’re just in a holding pattern now. If nothing comes of it, it’s ultimately a funny story.”
