Volkswagen, Porsche, Mazda among 100,000 vehicles recalled: Check car recalls here
Last week, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced several recalls, including one affecting over 98,000 Volkswagen ID.4 electric crossover SUVs due to a potential issue where door handles might open unexpectedly.

Mazda CX-30, CX-50, and Mazda 3 compacts recalled due to camera issues
Mazda is recalling 672 units of its 2024 Mazda 3, CX-30, and 2025 CX-50 vehicles because of a malfunction in the forward sensing camera. This malfunction may prevent the automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assist systems from working properly, thereby increasing the likelihood of accidents and injuries. Furthermore, it was noted that the headlights might not switch from high beams to low beams automatically as designed.
Dealers will check and replace the forward sensing camera at no cost. Letters notifying owners will be sent out on November 2, 2024. For assistance, owners can contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500, Option 6. The recall number for Mazda is 6824H.

Porsche Taycans recalled due to headlight software issues
Porsche has announced a recall of 954 of its 2024 Taycan electric sports cars due to incorrect headlight control module software that may not function properly, affecting how the parking lamps work when turn signals are used. This can lead to decreased visibility and increase the chance of an accident, according to the NHTSA report.
Dealers will provide the required updates to the headlight control module software at no charge. Owner notification letters are set to be sent on November 1, 2024. For assistance, owners can reach Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. This recall’s identification number for Porsche is ARB4.

Volkswagen recalls ID.4 SUVs due to door handle problem
Volkswagen is recalling 98,806 of its ID.4 electric crossover SUVs from the 2021 to 2024 model years because water may enter the circuit board assembly through the door handles. This defect can cause the doors to open unexpectedly, posing a safety risk to passengers and potentially harming outside individuals and objects, as explained in the company’s NHTSA report.
Volkswagen dealers will check the door handles and update the vehicle software as needed at no cost. Owner notification letters are anticipated to be sent out on November 1, 2024. Owners can contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298. The recall number for Volkswagen is 57J9. This recall is an extension of previous recall numbers 23V-312 and 23V-213, and vehicles that were repaired under those recalls will need the new remedy to be applied.
