Mariah Carey, the ‘Queen of Christmas,’ announces it’s time for the 2024 holiday season with a new video
Mariah Carey has proclaimed, “It’s time.”
Carey, known as the “Queen of Christmas” and a prominent figure in Hollywood’s festive scene, officially launched the holiday season on Friday. Each year, following Halloween, the music star shares a video to mark this occasion, and 2024 followed suit as she gears up for the celebrations on December 25.
In her Instagram clip, Carey takes on the role of Morticia Addams from The Addams Family. Dressed in an elegant black gown and wearing a diamond necklace from Kay Jewelers, she dances with someone dressed as Gomez Addams, who eventually transforms into a snowman.
The arrival of autumn transforms the season into one that she loves immensely.
In a whimsical and vibrant announcement, Carey donned her iconic red dress trimmed with fur as she danced to her cherished song “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” hailing from the beloved 1994 album “Merry Christmas,” which marks its 30th anniversary this year.
Earlier this month, Carey shared with YSL News how essential it is to bring joy to her fans during her first holiday season and Christmas following the losses of her mother and sister.
“Everyone faces tough times, and many struggle particularly during the holidays,” Carey expressed. “That’s why I focus on making people happy and creating festive moments—to help us all get through these challenges. I aim to be there for others.”

Mariah Carey Marks 30 Years of ‘Merry Christmas’ Album
This holiday classic features the song “All I Want For Christmas,” which Mariah co-wrote and co-produced alongside Walter Afanasieff. The track was recorded in August 1994 at The Hit Factory, a legendary studio located in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.

In December, there will be a variety of shows taking place across the New York City area, including her native Long Island.
“I believe not everyone fully appreciates how much joy this brings it truly makes me happy and brings happiness to many others,” Carey shares regarding her holiday performances. “It’s unlike a typical tour.”
