Release Schedule for New ‘Yellowstone’ Episodes: Season 5, Part 2
This article contains spoilers for the first episode of Season 5, Part 2 of Yellowstone.
The second half of “Yellowstone” Season 5 made its debut on Sunday night, quickly revealing what lies ahead for Kevin Costner’s character.
The episode kicks off with emergency personnel responding at the mansion of Governor John Dutton (played by Costner). His daughter, Beth (Kelly Reilly), arrives at the scene with her brother Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes).
Ignoring police barriers, they rush in, only to find a handgun on the bathroom floor alongside blood. Although John’s face isn’t shown, his body can be seen lying on the ground, with his children appearing deeply troubled.
“I missed it,” Costner said on SiriusXM’s “The Michael Smerconish Program” the following day. “To be honest, I didn’t even realize it aired last night. It’s a genuine surprise. I have seen ads with my face everywhere and thought, ‘Wait, I’m not in this one.’ I’m not part of this season.”
Costner has portrayed Dutton since “Yellowstone” premiered on Paramount Network in 2018 but announced back in June that he would not return for what were touted as the last episodes.
So, what’s in store for fans in the remaining episodes? Here’s the release schedule for new “Yellowstone” episodes.

Beth Dutton’s Vengeance Following John Dutton’s Fate
In a recent conversation with YSL News, Kelly Reilly, the actress behind Beth Dutton, expressed that her character would be heartbroken by her father’s impending dark fate.
“A woman has her limits. He’s the core of her being,” Reilly remarked. “What will that do to her? It will unleash a storm within her.”
Reilly has known how “Yellowstone” is meant to conclude since the show’s inception in 2018. She noted that Costner’s early exit hasn’t drastically altered the storyline. “We weren’t supposed to reach this point so quickly,” she stated. “However, getting the chance to return to the show’s original vision is truly rewarding.”
