Martha Stewart bakes 35 pies, jets to Italy for Thanksgiving: How stars are celebrating
Celebrities are sharing their Thanksgiving moments on social media, filled with gratitude, family time, and delicious feasts.
Martha Stewart had an impressive amount of pies for her Thanksgiving feast.
“I baked a total of 35 pies – Chocolate pecan, brown butter maple rum pecan, pumpkin phyllo, apple crumb, and cranberry,” Stewart announced on Instagram along with pictures of her creations.
Her extensive baking marathon required two full days and a staggering amount of ingredients: “I used 100 eggs, 14 pounds of pecan halves, eleven jars of Karo syrup, 25 pounds of Heckers flour, and thirty pounds of Plugra butter, six cups of maple syrup, 60 ounces of pumpkin puree, and 18 cups of fresh cranberries,” she detailed.
Despite her decades of cooking experience, Stewart still has her learning moments and shares her lessons: “I used three large ovens, and they are a mess now because I foolishly forgot to put cookie sheets under some of the pies, which overflowed everywhere – but they taste amazing!”
However, Stewart didn’t stick around to savor her achievements for long; she quickly flew to Italy for the holiday, posting from Rome on Thursday. “Happy Thanksgiving to everyone from Rome!!! The Trevi Fountain, despite construction, is still gorgeous,” she wrote on Instagram.
