More than 165,000 pounds of Perdue chicken nuggets and tenders recalled due to metal wire contamination
Perdue Foods has issued a recall for over 165,000 pounds of frozen chicken due to concerns about metal contamination.
The recall affects three different chicken nugget and tender products sold under the Perdue name and the Butcher Box brand.
“We found that a very thin strand of metal wire accidentally made its way into the manufacturing process,” stated Jeff Shaw, Perdue’s senior vice president for food safety and quality, in a press release.
The affected products were sold across the country and online. The contamination was discovered by a customer who reported it to Perdue.
According to the USDA, there have been no reported illnesses or injuries related to this recall.

All recalled packages contain the establishment number P-33944. The affected products include:
