McDonald’s Honors Angel Reese with Exclusive Special Meal Launching February 10th

McDonald’s introduces Angel Reese as the first female athlete to have a signature meal, launching on Feb. 10

WNBA star Angel Reese is teaming up with McDonald’s for a special meal offer.

Beginning on February 10, customers can try the new Angel Reese Special, which features a BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with Cheese accompanied by a unique BBQ sauce, along with French fries and a drink.

Reese is a fitting selection for McDonald’s first meal partnership with a female athlete. “McDonald’s has always played a big role in my life, from enjoying a McChicken Sandwich as a child to being honored as a McDonald’s All American in 2020,” Reese shared in a press release announcing the special meal.

“It feels like a dream to be the first female athlete to have my own meal and to join McDonald’s rich basketball tradition. I hope the Angel Reese Special motivates young athletes everywhere to chase their dreams,” added Reese, who is currently competing with the Rose Basketball Club in the newly formed three-on-three Unrivaled league.

The new bold BBQ Sauce is described as a “gamechanger” that combines “sweet, savory, and a hint of spice,” according to McDonald’s press release. The price of the Angel Reese Special will vary at different locations, as set by each individual restaurant.

This collaboration with Reese strengthens the “real connection between McDonald’s and basketball enthusiasts,” stated Jennifer “JJ” Healan, vice president of marketing, brand, content, and culture at McDonald’s.

“We aim to nurture their passion for the game and support athletes both on and off the court,” said Healan. “We are thrilled to share our basketball legacy with a new generation, and our partnership with Angel is just the beginning.”

While waiting for the launch of the Angel Reese Special, McDonald’s enthusiasts can choose from its $5 Meal Deal or explore the new budget-friendly McValue menu, which offers a “Buy One, Add One for $1” option allowing customers to purchase one full-priced item and get another for just $1.
