“The Golden Bachelor” star Joan Vassos is on the lookout for love once again as the first protagonist of “The Golden Bachelorette.” She will have 24 men competing for her heart.

Hailing from Rockville, Maryland, 61-year-old Vassos is a private school administrator who was chosen as the lead for the new season following the popularity of “The Golden Bachelor,” as reported by YSL News in February.

Vassos shared a memorable date with Gerry Turner, the Golden Bachelor, in the previous season, becoming a fan favorite despite having to leave due to her daughter’s health issues.

Now returning in “The Golden Bachelorette,” Vassos is eager for love in her later years, mentioning to YSL News that “you have to kiss some frogs to find your prince.”
