Melania Trump selects longtime aide Hayley Harrison as her chief of staff
Melania Trump, the future First Lady, announced her first significant appointment for the East Wing on Friday, choosing her longtime aide, Hayley Harrison, to serve as her chief of staff.
In a statement shared on X, Trump expressed, “Mrs. Harrison has played a vital role and demonstrated outstanding leadership within the First Lady’s team for the past seven years.”
This period includes Trump’s tenure in the White House and her subsequent life at Mar-a-Lago, their residence in Palm Beach, Florida.
Trump mentioned that Harrison possesses a “keen insight into White House operations” and will “supervise and coordinate the East Wing team while collaborating strategically with various government sectors” in her new role.
In an interview on ‘Fox & Friends’ on October 29, just a week before the election, Trump stated she was not feeling “nervous” because her prior experience in the White House gave her “much more insight.”
“So when you enter, you know precisely what to expect,” she explained. “You understand what types of individuals you need to bring on board.”
“It’s essential to have a team that shares the same vision as mine and is committed to serving not just me, but also the country,” she added.
Harrison is recognized as “Trump Employee 1” in the indictment related to former President Donald Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents last year, as reported by ABC News.
Special Counsel Jack Smith is expected to complete his investigation prior to Trump’s inauguration.
