‘The Voice’ Season 26 Finale: Coach Michael Bublé Celebrates Win with Sofronio Vasquez


“The Voice” has named Sofronio Vasquez from Team Bublé as the champion of Season 26.

 

The grand finale, which aired on Tuesday evening, saw Team Bublé’s Vasquez triumph over four other finalists, garnering the highest number of viewer votes. Alongside his victory title, he also walks away with a cash prize of $100,000 and a record deal.

This win marks Michael Bublé’s first triumph as a coach, making him the only one to have two finalists in the top five and the final two, with 17-year-old Shye from New York taking second place.

 

32-year-old Sofronio Vasquez from Mindanao, Philippines clinched the title after delivering two powerful performances on Monday night – “Unstoppable” by Sia and “A Million Dreams” from “The Greatest Showman.”

Expressing gratitude to his coach, Vasquez stated, “Your guidance has been a gift for me, my family, and all aspiring artists. You’ve opened many avenues for us.”

 

Bublé responded, “Being on this journey with you is incredible.”

Throughout the finale, the final five contestants shared the stage with their coaches, while the show also showcased special acts from returning coaches Kelly Clarkson and Dan + Shay, along with performances by Sting and Tears for Fears.

Who is Sofronio Vasquez?

Sofronio Vasquez, hailing from Mindanao, Philippines, is 32 and the second contestant from Team Bublé. His audition song, “I’m Going Down” by Mary J. Blige, impressed all four judges.

 

A resident of Utica, New York, Vasquez’s journey has transformed from not receiving any chair turns in “The Voice of the Philippines” nearly ten years ago to winning over all four judges on the American version this year.

 

“It feels surreal,” Vasquez told the Utica Observer Dispatch ahead of the finale. “I’m thrilled to be completing this journey with so much conviction, finally being able to say, ‘I did it’ – especially alongside my remarkable coach, Michael Bublé.”

Vasquez’s win signifies Michael Bublé’s first victory as a coach during his inaugural season. He is also expected to return for Season 27.

Season 27 of NBC’s “The Voice” is set to debut on Monday, February 3, 2025.
