Michelle Obama’s Outfit Sparks Buzz Online After DNC Speech

Former First Lady Michelle Obama took the stage on the second night of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Tuesday. True to her time in office, her attire became a topic of discussion online.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, her “futuristic flair” outfit was from Monse’s resort 2025 collection. Vogue also highlighted this collection, showcasing Obama’s unique belted, crisscross, sleeveless jacket paired with matching trousers.

Fashion was also touched upon in her husband’s speech, where former President Barack Obama made a lighthearted remark about vice presidential nominee Tim Walz’s clothing, quipping that “those flannel shirts he wears don’t come from some political consultant; they’re from his own closet and have seen a lot of wear.”

Michelle Obama Criticizes Donald Trump and Encourages Action

Throughout her speech, Obama made both subtle and clear jabs at Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump, referencing his birtherism and handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. This marked a shift to a more straightforward tone for her, contrasting with her previous saying, “when they go low, we go high.”

“Who’s going to tell Trump that job he wants might be one of those ‘Black jobs?'” Obama stated.

The former first lady emphasized that Kamala Harris is highly qualified for the position and drew parallels between Harris’ mother’s experiences and those of her own mother, who passed away in May.

Obama called on undecided Democrats to make their voices heard in the upcoming November election and turned the phrase “do something” into a motivational chant.

“She is the most dignified candidate,” she noted. “That is a testament to her mother, my mother, and all of our mothers too.”
