Ranked No. 3, Texas and Heisman Trophy hopeful Quinn Ewers are set to take on the No. 9 Wolverines, the reigning champions, in a match that could significantly influence the Playoff landscape.

Texas impressed in its season opener against Colorado State, scoring 52 points and accumulating 545 yards of total offense while resting their starters late in the third quarter. Ewers threw three touchdowns, with two going to Matthew Golden, completing 20 of his 27 passes for 260 yards. Backup quarterback Arch Manning also performed well, going 5 for 6 with 95 yards and a touchdown, alongside a rushing touchdown.

Conversely, Michigan faced some challenges in their initial game against Fresno State, leading by only six points with under six minutes remaining before sealing a 30-10 victory. The Wolverines predominantly focused on their run game, amassing 148 rushing yards on 34 attempts, led by senior Kalel Mullings who recorded 92 yards.
