Yelp has simplified the hunt for the ideal pizza by putting together a list of the top 100 pizzerias in the Midwest. The big news? Chicago did not secure the top position.

The rankings, unveiled this Tuesday, feature a variety of pizza styles, encompassing Detroit-style square slices and Chicago’s renowned deep-dish. There’s also a nod to innovative interpretations of Chicago’s tavern-style pizza, alongside the classic thin-crust St. Louis pizza, which is often compared to a cracker, as noted by Kathy Passero, who assisted in researching and compiling Yelp’s Top 100.

“The Midwest has been a crucial part of America’s pizza culture, giving rise to many beloved styles,” said Tara Lewis, Yelp’s trend expert. “Regardless of your pizza likes, you’re sure to find something delightful on this list.”

In creating the rankings, Yelp evaluated pizza places across multiple states including Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Yelp refined the list by focusing on pizzerias with a high volume of reviews that contained relevant keywords, ranking them based on various factors including the quantity and ratings of reviews that mentioned those keywords.

Yelp’s Top 10 Pizza Places in the Midwest

1. Loui’s Pizza in Hazel Park, Michigan

• Location: 23141 Dequindre Road
• Did you know? This family-run establishment has been offering Detroit-style pizza for nearly 50 years according to Yelp.
• With a solid rating of 4.4, diners especially appreciate the barbecue pizza. One recent customer noted the generous portions (“I’m quite large and still couldn’t finish half”) and especially enjoyed the crunchy corners.

2. Futuro in Indianapolis, Indiana
