Mike Tyson Embraces His Comeback: No Regrets About Facing Jake Paul One Last Time

Mike Tyson expresses ‘no regrets’ after fighting Jake Paul ‘one last time’

Mike Tyson, the former undisputed boxing champion, says he feels “no regrets” about competing in the recent high-profile fight against Jake Paul.

The 58-year-old Tyson shared on X (previously known as Twitter) the following day, “This was one of those cases where you may lose but still feel like a winner. I am thankful for last night.”

In the match held on Friday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Tyson lost to 27-year-old Paul by unanimous decision after eight full rounds. Tyson struggled, managing to connect with only 18 out of 97 punches, while Paul landed 78 out of his 278 attempts. This defeat marked the seventh loss in Tyson’s illustrious boxing career, and he was noncommittal about whether this would be his final fight.

However, on Saturday, he seemed to suggest he might retire from boxing, stating he has “no regrets about getting in the ring one final time.”

The match was initially set for July, but it had to be postponed after Tyson experienced an ulcer flare-up during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles in May, resulting in his hospitalization.

Tyson revealed, “In June, I almost lost my life. I underwent eight blood transfusions, lost half my blood, and also lost 25 pounds during my hospital stay. My battle to recover was my victory. Sharing the experience of going toe-to-toe and completing eight rounds with a much younger, skilled opponent in front of a packed Dallas Cowboys stadium is something no one can take away from me. Thank you.”

Tyson is a father of six kids, aged between 13 to 34. His son Amir Tyson, 27, provided commentary during Friday’s live boxing event on Netflix and interviewed his father before the fight.
