The fight against the devastating wildfires in Southern California continued on Wednesday, with more celebrities speaking out about the destruction and offering to help.
Wind conditions improved on Tuesday, allowing firefighting teams to make headway in controlling the deadly fires. The National Weather Service in Los Angeles had issued a “particularly dangerous situation” red flag warning for Los Angeles and Ventura counties, which remained in effect until Wednesday afternoon.
So far, at least 25 lives have been lost due to the fires.
Recently, more celebrities have reported losing their homes in the blazes, adding to those already affected, including Billy Crystal and Paris Hilton. Stars who weren’t as heavily impacted have been donating to organizations involved in relief efforts and encouraging their fans to contribute as well.
Grammys Will Go On to Raise Funds for Fire Relief, Oscar Nominations Announcement Delayed
The 2025 Grammy Awards are still set to take place on February 2 in Los Angeles, as confirmed in a letter to members from Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. and board chair Tammy Hurt, which was obtained by YSL News.
The letter stated that the event “will carry a renewed purpose: to raise funds for wildfire relief and honor the courage of first responders who risk their lives for us.”
In related news, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has postponed the announcement of the 2025 Oscar nominations to January 23, having previously rescheduled it to January 19. The period for voting on nominations has also been extended to January 17, and the annual Oscars nominees luncheon has been canceled.
“We are deeply saddened by the impact of the fires and the tremendous losses felt by many in our community,” said Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang.
“The Academy has always been a source of unity in the film industry, and we are dedicated to coming together in tough times.”

Several music legends are donating valuable memorabilia to the Julien’s Auctions MusiCares Charity Relief Auction, set for February 2 (the same day as the Grammy Awards). Proceeds will assist both immediate and ongoing needs of music industry professionals affected by the wildfires.
According to a press release, notable auction items include: Bruce Springsteen’s Butterscotch Blonde Fender American Vintage II Telecaster guitar, Dolly Parton’s sequined jumpsuit from the 2019 MusiCares Person of the Year event, and Olivia Rodrigo’s 2009 Squier Avril Lavigne Telecaster guitar.
Ricki Lake Shares Video of ‘What’s Left of Our Home’
Ricki Lake, who previously expressed that she lost her “dream home” in the fires, posted an Instagram video on Sunday showing “what’s left of our property and garden from the courtyard.”
The “Hairspray” actress noted her disbelief that “the palm trees survived,” adding that “hearing the birds chirping warms my broken heart.”
Iron Maiden’s Adrian Smith, Joshua Jackson Confirm Home Loss in LA Fires
Adrian Smith, guitarist for Iron Maiden, announced on Instagram that he and his wife Nathalie lost their Malibu home, sharing photos of their “last sunset” there.
“We are alright,” she wrote. “We have each other. We will rebuild.”
Actor Joshua Jackson also reported that his childhood home in Los Angeles was consumed by flames in a statement to YSL News.
“First and foremost, I’m relieved that my loved ones affected by the fire are safe,” Jackson said. “My daughter, family, and neighbors are all okay.”
Eva Longoria Says Her ‘Home is Full’ with Friends Who Evacuated
In an Instagram video, Eva Longoria revealed that she evacuated due to the fires and has “many friends at my house who had to flee from other areas, so my home is full.”
The actress also mentioned that she “literally emptied my pantry” to donate food and will contribute $50,000 to This Is About Humanity to aid “frontline essential workers and families impacted by the fires.”
The Game Assists LA Firefighters in Relief Efforts
The Game announced on Instagram that he and his team are helping firefighters in the Los Angeles area “in any way possible to ease their burden.”
“We brought blankets, pillows, coffee, bananas, water, and anything else we could offer to support these brave firefighters,” he said.
The rapper expressed his gratitude, “They kept thanking me for being here, but in my mind, I’m thinking, ‘No, THANK YOU!!!’ for doing the unimaginable during such a terrifying and desperate time.”
Ashley Tisdale on LA Relief Efforts: ‘I’m Committed for the Long Haul’
Ashley Tisdale shared in an Instagram story that she had left Los Angeles “for a pre-planned work trip,” noting it “feels strange to be partaking in normal activities after the past week’s events.”
The “High School Musical” actress stated she has been making donations to relief initiatives and has “started to realize the magnitude of the need out there.”
“Recovery will take a long time, and we must be there for our friends and even strangers,” she said. “Let’s come together to support those who need help getting back on their feet. I’m in this for the long haul. Love you, LA.”
Duchess Meghan Pushes Back Netflix Show Release Due to LA Fires
On Sunday, Netflix announced that the launch of Duchess Meghan’s new show “With Love, Meghan” has been postponed from January 15 to March 4 due to the wildfires in Los Angeles. This decision was made “at the request of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and with full support from Netflix,” the streaming service stated.
“I’m grateful to my Netflix partners for agreeing to delay the launch, as we prioritize addressing the needs of those affected by the wildfires in my home state of California,” said Duchess Meghan.
Deon Cole Evacuates Home After Leaving Hospital: ‘A Nightmare’
Comedian Deon Cole shared on Instagram that he was having a “devastating” day after leaving the hospital, arriving home, and immediately needing to evacuate due to the fires.
“As I drove away, I saw the fire rising behind my house. It’s a nightmare!!!” he wrote. “But I managed to take the flowers my mom gave me before she passed.”
Cole had previously shared a photo of himself in a hospital bed, which he posted on his 53rd birthday but did not disclose what illness he had.
Miley Cyrus Reflects on Losing Her Home in 2018 Wildfire
In a post on X, Miley Cyrus expressed her sympathy for those affected by the Los Angeles fires while recalling her own experience of losing her home in a wildfire back in 2018.
“It’s an unforgettable feeling,” she wrote. “As you approach the door you would enter daily, looking forward to being welcomed by loved ones, only to confront a pile of ash and debris instead. My heart aches for those facing this devastation firsthand, and I weep for my city.”
She continued, “It’s truly heartbreaking. Los Angeles symbolizes ‘living the dream,’ but the current reality is one of ruin and catastrophe.”
