Engineers Revolutionize CO2 Conversion: Turning Emissions into Valuable Resources

A new electrode design developed at MIT boosts the efficiency of electrochemical reactions that turn carbon dioxide into ethylene and other products. As the world struggles to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, researchers are seeking practical, economical ways to capture carbon dioxide and convert it into useful products, such as transportation fuels, chemical feedstocks, or even

Mississippi on the Move, Georgia Drops in Latest NCAA College Football Rankings Post-Week 11

Mississippi surges, Georgia drops in college football NCAA Re-Rank 1-134 after Week 11

This week’s YSL News Sports NCAA Re-Rank 1-134 sees Georgia plummeting while Alabama and Mississippi make gains after an important Saturday in the SEC.

The Bulldogs fell 10 positions to No. 13 after suffering a 28-10 defeat to the Rebels, who rise five spots to No. 12. Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide ascends five spots to No. 10 following a dominating 42-13 victory against LSU.

Georgia’s recent losses to both of these teams, especially on their home turf, make it easy to rank them lower. Georgia’s win against Texas last month does keep them just ahead of another two-loss SEC contender, Texas A&M, at No. 13.

The SEC still has a strong presence at the top of the rankings, with No. 1 Oregon and No. 2 Ohio State leading. They are followed by No. 3 Texas, No. 4 Penn State, and No. 5 Tennessee. The rankings also feature No. 6 Notre Dame, No. 7 Indiana, and No. 8 Brigham Young.

Another team that has dropped in this week’s rankings is No. 9 Miami. The Hurricanes managed to hold off teams like California, Virginia Tech, Louisville, and Duke, but fell flat with a 28-23 loss to Georgia Tech. Despite this setback, they remain the top team in the ACC, ahead of No. 11 SMU.

Others dropping in the ranks include No. 22 Iowa State (down 10), No. 25 LSU (down 11), No. 35 Iowa (down 10), and No. 57 Florida (down 12).

Teams moving up the rankings include No. 24 Colorado (up 10), No. 30 Georgia Tech (up 14), and No. 84 UCLA (up 16).
