Mystery Unveils: Three Intriguing Theories Surrounding the Utah Hockey Club Logo Leak

Rumors about Utah Hockey Club’s logo circulate on social media

Fans of NHL in Utah have a final opportunity to cast their votes for a permanent team name during the home game at the Delta Center on Tuesday night.

The choices presented to fans include the present Utah Hockey Club, as well as Utah Mammoth and Utah Outlaws, following the exclusion of the popular Utah Yeti due to unsuccessful negotiations with YETI Coolers. The initial suggestion of Utah Wasatch was quickly discarded during the first voting round, making way for Outlaws.

During the voting process, fans were shown some branding options that were intended to remain confidential. However, various speculated logos surfaced on social media this past Monday, with confirmation from NHL insider Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff.

The first two options are quite clear: the Mammoth logo features a sideways mammoth, while the Outlaws show an outlaw figure. These names have relevance since remains of mammoths have been unearthed in Utah, and Butch Cassidy, an infamous outlaw, hails from the state.

Additionally, a possible new logo for the Utah Hockey Club—currently represented by a puck—might feature a blend of a snow creature and the Wasatch mountains. This design could resemble what the Yeti logo would have looked like if an agreement had been achieved.

The search for a team name began with 20 options, narrowed down to six, and now stands at three. This Tuesday’s match provides the fourth and final chance for fans to vote in person. The club announced that a logo, uniform design, and mascot are planned for the 2025-26 season.
