Today marks the debut of the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff!

 

After months of speculation and excitement about the changes in college football’s postseason, fans will finally get their first glimpse of the College Football Playoff (CFP) rankings today at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.

As the air of consensus holds that Oregon may be the top team heading into this week’s rankings, today’s reveal will provide clarity on various questions that have lingered throughout the past ten weeks of the college football season.

One of the biggest discussions surrounding the CFP involves identifying the seven at-large teams—seeds No. 5 through 11. This season’s new format allows teams with two losses to also be considered for the playoffs.

When Will the College Football Playoff Rankings Be Released?

The College Football Playoff rankings will be unveiled today at 7 p.m. ET.

This initial announcement of the top-12 rankings is the first in a series of six releases leading up to the final rankings on Sunday, December 8.
