What’s next for the Packers? Key free agents, draft requirements, and offseason plans after playoff exit
The Green Bay Packers kicked off their season with a defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles, ending it in the same manner.
In the wild-card round of the NFC playoffs, Green Bay was defeated 22-10 by the Eagles, who dominated much of the game. This marked Philadelphia’s second victory of the season against the Packers, having previously met in Week 1 in Brazil.
With this loss, the offseason has begun for Jordan Love and the rest of the team. What are the Packers’ next steps as they gear up for the 2025 season? YSL News Sports has the details.
Key free agents for the Packers in 2025
Josh Myers, Center
Myers participated in 16 games and logged 1,008 snaps. He’s a reliable center with solid chemistry with Jordan Love, allowing only one sack and facing 29 pressures this season, according to Pro Football Focus.
Isaiah McDuffie, Linebacker
McDuffie led the team with 97 tackles, along with three tackles for loss and one forced fumble. The linebacker played in all 17 regular-season games for Green Bay.
Eric Stokes, Cornerback
Stokes started in seven games this year, contributing to 54% of the team’s defensive snaps. He allowed 403 passing yards and three touchdowns.
Offseason outlook for the Packers: Three moves to consider
Cornerback
Due to a PCL injury, the Packers placed Jaire Alexander on injured reserve. With Eric Stokes, Corey Ballentine, and Robert Rochell all heading to free agency, Green Bay must reinforce their depth at this key position.
Defensive End
The Packers’ pass rush win rate of 35% was the lowest in the league, ranking 26th overall. While Rashan Gary managed to achieve 7.5 sacks, there is a clear need for more consistency on the opposite end of the defensive line.
Wide Receiver Depth
With Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs entering the final year of their contracts, the Packers need to secure additional options at the wide receiver position. Earlier in the season, Doubs was suspended for “conduct detrimental to the team” after expressing dissatisfaction with his role. Watson sustained an ACL injury in Week 18, which complicates his status for 2025.
