After the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-6) triumphed over the Carolina Panthers (3-9) on Sunday, their playoff prospects experienced a significant boost.
Entering Week 13, the Buccaneers had a 46% chance of reaching the playoffs, according to Next Gen Stats available as of 9 a.m. ET on Sunday. Their victory against the Panthers, who only maintain a 1% chance of making the playoffs, elevated Tampa Bay’s odds to 59%.
Despite this increase, Tampa Bay would still fall short of a playoff spot as the NFC South champion, since the Atlanta Falcons (6-6) have beaten them twice this season. The Buccaneers face tougher competition for a wild-card chance, with the Washington Commanders currently holding the worst wild-card record at 8-5.
