Nick Saban welcomes family at vacation rental in new Vrbo ad: ‘I have some rules’
Famed football coach Nick Saban features in a humorous Vrbo commercial presenting vacation rentals.
Renowned football coach Nick Saban is now starring in a new commercial where he hosts families at their vacation rentals.
Saban, celebrated for his 16-year tenure at the University of Alabama where he clinched six National Championships with the Crimson Tide, is featured in a commercial for Vrbo, a platform that connects travelers with vacation rental properties. The 72-year-old stepped down from coaching in January.
In this minute-long ad, Saban greets a family of four arriving at their rental home. He treats them like a football team, timing their arrival and creating a plan for their stay.
“As your host, I have some rules,” Saban proclaims in the ad. “No showers longer than five minutes — this isn’t a spa. No streaming, only cable television. no games, no fun, and the kids aren’t even allowed inside.”
‘Daddy time in the tub’
Saban is then shown mowing the lawn while telling the family’s two children to leave the house.
“How did you two get in here?” he questions the kids.
Moreover, Saban establishes a “two-flush limit per bathroom visit.” While in the hot tub with the parents, he mentions they have only 10 minutes because it’s “Daddy time in the tub.”
What is Nick Saban up to these days?
Saban’s retirement surprised many, especially after he signed an impressive eight-year $93.6 million contract in 2022 to stay on as Alabama’s head coach.
“The University of Alabama has been incredibly important to both Terry and me,” Saban stated in January. “We have cherished every moment of our 17 years as head coach there, becoming part of the Tuscaloosa community.”
“It’s not solely about the number of games we won or lost, but about the legacy we built and our approach. We aimed to help players maximize their future potential, improve as athletes, and succeed in life through our program.”
In February, Saban announced he had joined ESPN as a media analyst. He is anticipated to make regular appearances on their “College GameDay” program.
“ESPN and ‘College GameDay’ are pivotal to the evolution of college football, and I’m thrilled to be joining their team. I will strive to provide valuable insights and viewpoints that will enhance College GameDay, an essential tradition for college football fans,” Saban said in a press release.
