Nikki Glaser to Host the 2025 Golden Globes, Hints It Could ‘Get Me Canceled’

Attention, Hollywood! After her recent roast of Tom Brady, Nikki Glaser has set her sights on you.

The 40-year-old comedian will take the reins as host for the Golden Globe Awards in January, celebrating the best in film and television.

Glaser shared her enthusiasm, calling the Golden Globes “one of my favorite nights of television,” expressing her hope that the industry embraces being playfully ridiculed. “At least I hope so. (God, I hope so),” she added.

She reminisced about some of her all-time favorite jokes from Golden Globes monologues that delivered crucial insights that everyone secretly needed to hear, referencing past hosts like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Ricky Gervais.

With a humorous touch, she said, “I just hope to uphold that cherished tradition (and maybe get canceled in the process).”

Glaser is recognized for her sharp wit in several Comedy Central roasts, where she has humorously targeted celebrities like Alec Baldwin and Rob Lowe. Earlier this year, she roasted Tom Brady in a Netflix special, earning widespread praise for her performance, during which she mockingly addressed Brady’s divorce from Gisele Bündchen. At one point, she quipped, “You have seven rings. Well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back.”

Glaser will succeed comedian Jo Koy, who hosted the last Golden Globes in January. Koy’s monologue received significant criticism, with many of his jokes failing to resonate, including a controversial comment about the movie “Barbie” being about “a plastic doll with big boobies.” Koy noted he was only given 10 days’ notice before the event.

The previous year’s ceremony was led by comedian Jerrod Carmichael, who took a subtle approach to his monologue while critiquing the Hollywood Foreign Press Association amid a diversity scandal. The HFPA has since been disbanded.

The 2025 Golden Globe Awards are slated to be broadcast on Sunday, January 5, via CBS and Paramount+. The nominations will be revealed on December 9.
