The Baltimore Ravens clinched their playoff position on Saturday after defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-17. The Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos are also in contention, but they require assistance from other teams to secure their spots after their Thursday match. In the NFC, the Green Bay Packers and Washington Commanders also stand a chance to secure their playoff berths, although close races in the NFC West and South will prolong the resolution for at least another week.

Below are the scenarios for NFL playoff clinching in Week 16:

Kansas City Chiefs

• Can secure the AFC’s No. 1 seed and home-field advantage by:
  • Having the Bills lose or tie

Denver Broncos

• Can clinch a playoff spot by:
  • Having the Dolphins, Bengals, and Colts all lose or tie

Los Angeles Chargers

• Can secure a playoff spot by:
  • Having the Dolphins and Colts both lose or tie

Philadelphia Eagles

• Can clinch the NFC East title by:
  • Winning or tying their game

Green Bay Packers

• Can clinch a playoff spot by:
  • Winning or tying their game
  • The Falcons losing or tying combined with either the Rams or Seahawks losing or tying

Washington Commanders

• Can secure a playoff berth by:
  • Winning their game while the Falcons lose or tie AND the Rams lose or tie
  • Winning their game while the Falcons lose or tie AND the Seahawks lose or tie
  • Tying their game while the Falcons lose and both the Cardinals and either the Rams or Seahawks lose or tie (as long as neither the Rams nor the Seahawks finish in a tie)
