Piers Morgan apologizes to Jay-Z and Beyoncé following Jaguar Wright interview
Piers Morgan has publicly expressed regret to Jay-Z and Beyoncé after broadcasting allegations made about them by blogger Jaguar Wright.
This particular episode featured both Wright, a former associate of Jay-Z, and YouTuber DJ Vlad, who spoke about allegations of abuse against Combs. During the conversation, Wright leveled uncorroborated claims suggesting that Jay-Z and Beyoncé were also involved in such activities.
“Jaguar Wright unexpectedly made several serious accusations about Jay-Z and Beyoncé during that interview. As I mentioned at the time, they weren’t there to defend themselves. But now they have the opportunity to do so,” he stated.
“We don’t take the decision to edit interviews lightly on a show called ‘Uncensored,’ but just like there are legal boundaries, we must adhere to those as well,” he remarked. “We sincerely apologize to Jay-Z and Beyoncé.”
He continued: “This highlights the reality of today’s media landscape: virtually anyone can have a platform if they have something to say that interests others. That’s why we invited her for an interview.”
Wright has not yet responded to requests for comment.
Combs, who was arrested on Sept. 16 and faced charges related to sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution the following day, has been held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center since then.
He has attempted multiple times to secure bail but has been denied and is once again appealing for his release.
