Catch Them All: Details on the Pokémon Happy Meal Collaboration with McDonald’s
Get ready, trainers! McDonald’s has partnered with Pokémon, providing 4-card booster packs and activity sheets in special Happy Meals until late February.
Every Happy Meal comes with a Pokémon booster pack containing four cards out of a possible 15, along with a Pokémon poster and a sticker sheet for decorating the poster, as stated by McDonald’s.
Additionally, customers ordering a Happy Meal via the McDonald’s app can receive 24-hour hourglasses and 12 wonder hourglasses, usable in the mobile Pokémon Trading Card Game, as announced by McDonald’s and Pokémon on Tuesday.
“Similar to our brand, our fans cherish their sweet memories with Pokémon,” remarked Guillaume Huin, McDonald’s senior marketing director, in a press release. “We are excited to enhance those fond memories and bring a fresh wave of joy through the new Pokémon Happy Meal.”
The Happy Meal boxes will be slightly redesigned too, with customers receiving one of four Pokémon-themed designs featuring:
- Charizard
- Pikachu and Dragonite
- Rayquaza
- Roaring Moon
What Can Pokémon GO Fans Expect from McDonald’s?
McDonald’s also reminded fans about the ongoing Pokémon GO activation that began last month, allowing trainers to visit sponsored PokéStops or gyms located at McDonald’s restaurants across the U.S.
These events will span several weeks, inviting trainers to McDonald’s locations to find Pokémon attracted by Lure Modules and join in five-star raids at McDonald’s Gyms.
The events will run daily from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time during the following periods:
- January 20 to January 26
- February 10 to February 16
- March 10 to March 16
