Progresso Soup Drops vanish quickly: When to expect more of the candy treats

Last week, Progresso introduced an exciting new treat for soup enthusiasts, resulting in an enthusiastic reception.

On Thursday, the soup brand revealed their Soup Drops, a hard candy that tastes like chicken noodle soup and looks somewhat like a cough drop. The initial supply sold out in under an hour, as confirmed by the company in an email to YSL News on Tuesday. They also shared the announcement on Instagram last Thursday.

“Well this is souper awkward our Soup Drops sold out before we had the chance to tell you,” the Instagram post noted. “But don’t worry, there’s a fresh batch of Soup You Can Suck On coming your way next Thursday, 1/23 at 9AM ET at ProgressoSoupDrops.com!”

Progresso informed YSL News that they plan to release more batches every Thursday for the remaining weeks of January, as long as they have stock available.

‘Soup for your enjoyment’: What goes into them?

Progresso describes these drops as “soup you can suck on,” capturing flavors of broth, savory vegetables, soft egg noodles, and a touch of parsley.

They come in a can designed to resemble a typical Progresso soup container, filled with 20 individually wrapped candies. Additionally, each order includes a can of genuine Progresso Traditional Chicken Noodle Soup, priced at $2.49 plus shipping, according to the brand.

“When you’re unwell, few things comfort you like Chicken Noodle Soup. Hence, we thought, why limit it to the bowl? We transformed our beloved Progresso Chicken Noodle Soup flavors into a playful, savory candy Soup Drop, offering a new way to savor the flavors you adore anytime, anywhere,” explained MC Comings, VP and Business Unit Director for Progresso at General Mills, in a press release last week.
