“Resilience & Joy: Milo Ventimiglia and Jarah Mariano Celebrate New Arrival Amidst Adversity”

Milo Ventimiglia from ‘This Is Us’ and Jarah Mariano welcome a baby after losing their home to LA wildfires

In the wake of the destructive wildfires in Los Angeles, Milo Ventimiglia and his wife Jarah Mariano have a new blessing to cherish.

The “This Is Us” actor and Mariano announced the arrival of their baby on January 23, with Mariano, 41, sharing the news in a post on Instagram. They named their newborn Ke’ala Coral Ventimiglia, marking the couple’s first child together.

“Without a house, but never without a home,” Mariano captioned the photo, which showed their baby’s legs alongside their dog’s paw. Tragically, they had to evacuate due to the recent LA wildfires that destroyed their home last month, while Mariano was 38 weeks pregnant at the time.

“We lost both the home we lived in and everything within it, as well as the house we were building to move into,” the model shared, expressing her gratitude despite the turmoil. She extended her thanks to first responders and emphasized, “What truly matters is that my family and I are safe, happy, and together.”

Mariano reflected on the lengthy process of rebuilding and coping with their loss, adding, “Many will be grieving, but we feel positive and inspired to embrace the new beginnings that come with starting over!”

She also requested some privacy as they adjust to life with their newborn, mentioning that they would return to share updates when they feel ready.

Milo Ventimiglia reflects on the loss of his home and connections to his ‘This Is Us’ character Jack Pearson

Ventimiglia, 47, disclosed during a CBS News interview in early January that their Malibu home was destroyed in the fire. “You can’t help but think about all the moments you’ve had in different parts of the house,” he expressed, clearly emotional while talking with host Tony Dokoupil. “Seeing the damage to neighboring homes is heartbreaking.”

He recounted that he and Mariano, who have been married since 2023, witnessed the destruction of their property through security cameras: “Eventually, we just turned off the feed. We had to accept what happened.”

In a poignant twist, Ventimiglia noted that his character Jack Pearson on “This Is Us” died from smoke inhalation in a house fire. “It’s not lost on me that life is imitating art,” he shared with Dokoupil.
