Rip and Beth Take Center Stage in Exciting New Spinoff as ‘Yellowstone’ Bids Farewell

‘Yellowstone’ is coming to an end, but Rip and Beth will continue in a new spinoff series: Reports

Even with the conclusion of “Yellowstone” this Sunday, featuring its Season 5 finale, the characters Rip and Beth will persist.

Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton, and Cole Hauser, who portrays Rip Wheeler, have reportedly confirmed their return for a new “Yellowstone” spinoff series. This news was initially shared by Deadline.com, though the Paramount Network hasn’t yet provided an official statement.

This upcoming series, which is said to carry “Yellowstone” in its title, has been speculated as a likely option after Taylor Sheridan, the executive producer and creator, concluded the flagship series. During a discussion with YSL News in October, Reilly was non-committal when asked about her involvement in the spinoff.

“Honestly, right now, there’s nothing set in stone,” Reilly commented during her recent interview. “We just want to wrap up this chapter of ‘Yellowstone,’ as it truly deserves a proper conclusion. We’re considering various possibilities for the future, but my focus is on letting everyone enjoy these last six episodes as their finale. If there’s a chance for a new project from Taylor (Sheridan), we’re both on board.”

The unexpected end of the series followed Kevin Costner’s departure, who played the lead role of John Dutton, after a lengthy disagreement with Sheridan. It remains uncertain which other cast members might join Rip and Beth, who have recently been teaming up with figures from a Texas ranch, including a mischievous horse trader played by Sheridan.

Audiences can expect more details in the “Yellowstone” finale airing this Sunday.

This new series, which branches off from the hit show, could significantly benefit Paramount, especially since they sold the streaming rights to “Yellowstone” to competitor NBCUniversal’s Peacock. This major decision turned out to be a substantial financial error for Paramount and left many viewers confused about how to watch “Yellowstone” after its broadcast on the Paramount Network.

With the spinoff, Paramount might regain control of the show’s new version for its Paramount+ streaming service, unless NBC pursues legal measures.
