Even with the ongoing family tensions, Prince Harry is receiving birthday greetings today.

The British royal is celebrating his 40th birthday on Sunday and has received heartfelt messages from his father, King Charles III, and brother, Prince William, via social media.

“🎂 Happy 40th Birthday to The Duke of Sussex!” posted on King Charles’ official Instagram account.

Prince William and his wife, Princess Kate, also shared the birthday message by re-posting the King’s tribute.

“Happy 40th Birthday to The Duke of Sussex!” they shared on X.

These birthday wishes come during a time of tension for Prince Harry and the royal family, which began in 2020 when Harry and his wife, Duchess Meghan, opted to step down from their senior royal duties.

Since then, Prince Harry has been open about his complex relationship with the royal family, sharing insights through various platforms, including a Netflix documentary and his revealing 2023 memoir, “Spare,” along with several frank television interviews.

Recent Encounters of Prince Harry with King Charles III and Prince William

Prince Harry and Prince William were seen together at their grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022.

While both attended King Charles III’s coronation in May 2023, Harry was seated several rows behind Prince William during the ceremony at Westminster Abbey and didn’t join the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace afterward.

Earlier this year, Prince Harry traveled to London to visit King Charles III after the King was diagnosed with cancer in February. In a follow-up interview with “Good Morning America,” Harry expressed how he quickly arranged to see his father.

“I love my family. I truly appreciated that I could visit him and spend time with him,” Harry shared. “I have other trips planned that will bring me to the UK, and I intend to see my family as often as I can.”
