Royal Caribbean to Launch New Destination, Perfect Day Mexico, in Mahahual by 2027
Guests traveling with Royal Caribbean International can soon enjoy a “perfect day” in a new location beyond CocoCay.
The cruise line has announced the opening of Perfect Day Mexico, the second venue in its Perfect Day Collection. Their Bahamas private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, is already recognized as the top-rated destination among the 250 ports featured in their cruise itineraries, according to Kara Wallace, the company’s chief marketing officer.
“Our guests are eager for these experiences,” Wallace shared in an interview with YSL News. “We were on the search for a new perfect destination, and we found it in Mexico.”
Location of Perfect Day Mexico
This new destination will be situated in Mahahual, located on the Caribbean coast.
“We are thrilled that Royal Caribbean is investing in Mahahual, a place with great potential and dedicated people,” commented Mara Lezama, governor of Quintana Roo. “With the Well Being and Development Accord guiding us, my administration is eager to collaborate closely with Royal Caribbean to create a sustainable destination that benefits the local community and promotes shared prosperity.”
Opening Date for Perfect Day Mexico
The anticipated opening year for the destination is 2027, with the exact date yet to be revealed.
Wallace mentioned that plans for itineraries are still underway, but Perfect Day Mexico is envisioned as a key stop on Western Caribbean cruises, including routes from Galveston, the Gulf, and various points in Florida.
What Guests Can Look Forward To
Perfect Day is celebrated for its mix of adventure and relaxation. Wallace mentioned that guests at the new Mexico spot can expect a water park, serene beaches, cooling pools, along with various restaurants and bars.
Additional details about the facilities and attractions will be shared in the upcoming months, likely around springtime.
The launch of Perfect Day Mexico will follow the introduction of the Royal Beach Club Collection, starting with the Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in the Bahamas in 2025 and Royal Beach Club Cozumel in 2026.
Wallace emphasized that the cruise line has something for every traveler, whether on land or aboard their ships. “We aim to create experiences where no one feels they have to compromise,” she stated.
Wallace explained that the name “Perfect Day” originally served as a project code but perfectly captures their vision for the guest experience in both this new destination and beyond.
“This means we are continually striving to ensure that we are providing a perfect day for our guests,” she concluded.
