Rudy Giuliani Stripped of Law License in D.C. Over Groundless 2020 Election Fraud Allegations

Rudy Giuliani Disbarred in D.C. for Unfounded Claims of 2020 Election Fraud

A former Arizona House speaker recounted Giuliani stating, ‘We have many theories, but lack the evidence.’

WASHINGTON – Rudy Giuliani, the ex-mayor of New York City, was disbarred on Thursday in Washington D.C. due to his false claims regarding election fraud while acting as a legal advisor for ex-President Donald Trump.

This ruling came from a three-judge panel of the D.C. Court of Appeals − Judges Roy McLeese, Joshua Deahl, and Eric Washington − and follows Giuliani’s disbarment in New York, barring him from practicing law in both locations.

As Trump’s lawyer, Giuliani attempted to contest the 2020 election results, claiming extensive fraud, a notion that even Republican investigators at the federal and state levels dismissed. A former Arizona House speaker noted Giuliani’s admission: “We’ve got lots of theories, we just don’t have the evidence.”

Ted Goodman, Giuliani’s representative, criticized the decision as a “partisan and politically driven move” and stated that it should raise concerns among legal professionals.

“This is an absolute travesty and a total miscarriage of justice,” Goodman asserted.

This disbarment adds to the growing legal troubles Giuliani is facing.

He has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy charges regarding election interference in Georgia and Arizona. These charges claim he persuaded state lawmakers to substitute Democratic electors with Republicans, despite Joe Biden winning those states.

Additionally, Giuliani was found liable for $148 million in damages for defaming two Georgia election workers, falsely accusing them of vote manipulation.
