Savannah Chrisley shares heartfelt email to her mother Julie Chrisley during federal prison sentence
Savannah Chrisley is opening up about her family’s hardships.
As reported by E! and People magazine, the “Growing Up Chrisley” star sent her mother the lyrics to the gospel song “Be Still and Know” by CeCe Winans, which she shared on her Instagram story on Wednesday.
“Sav, thank you for sending this. Love you always, Mama,” responded the Chrisley family’s matriarch from federal prison.
This emotional exchange follows Savannah’s speech at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee last month, where she spoke about the lengthy prison sentences her parents are facing.
“72600019 and 72601019,” she told the audience, referencing her parents’ federal prison identification numbers. “To you, they might just be numbers, but to me, they represent my entire heart.”
Since her parents’ sentencing, Savannah Chrisley has been granted legal custody of her brother, Grayson, and her niece, Chloe. In 2022, Julie Chrisley, aged 51, and her husband, Todd Chrisley, aged 55, were convicted of tax evasion and fraudulently obtaining over $30 million in loans from community banks. Julie additionally faced charges of obstruction of justice and wire fraud.
In June, judges from the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned Julie Chrisley’s original sentence, citing insufficient evidence.
The appellate judges determined that the trial judge had miscalculated her sentence and did not produce sufficient evidence of her involvement in the bank fraud, based on documents reviewed by YSL News.
Last December, the Palm Beach Post indicated that Julie Chrisley is set for release from the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky on September 4, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. She was transferred there from a federal prison camp in Florida in January of last year, although no updated release date has been announced.
Julie’s resentencing hearing is scheduled for September 25, according to People.
This past year has been particularly challenging for Savannah Chrisley. In addition to her parents’ imprisonment, she dealt with the tragic loss of her ex-fiancé, Nicolas Kerdiles, a former ice hockey player, who died in a motorcycle accident in Nashville, Tennessee, where the Chrisley family moved from Atlanta.
However, there have been positive developments as well. She is now in a relationship with Robert Shiver, an Alabama insurance executive, who made headlines last year after becoming the target of a murder conspiracy involving his estranged wife, Lindsay Shiver, just three months after they filed for divorce.
