Accusers of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs reveal a troubling history of abuse in recent Rolling Stone piece
Sean “Diddy” Combs is grappling with a multitude of serious legal issues, and a recent investigation by Rolling Stone is exposing more about the music industry’s troubling tales of his purported abusive behavior and sexual misconduct.
The extensive article outlines claims from existing legal documents alongside new testimonies from former partners and staffers, illustrating a man who, despite efforts to reshape his “Bad Boy” persona, allegedly perpetuated a cycle of manipulation, intimidation, and mistreatment.
Combs has consistently denied all allegations against him, with his legal representatives asserting that both civil and federal lawsuits constitute intrusions into his personal life and are attempts to exploit his celebrity status.
Two hotel workers, who requested anonymity for their safety, shared with the outlet that on the evening of Combs’ arrest at the Park Hyatt in New York, a woman was present waiting in his room upstairs.
A former girlfriend, who dated Combs on and off for four years, disclosed to Rolling Stone that he was trying to persuade her to visit New York shortly before his arrest. She, identified by a pseudonym as Jane Doe in a lawsuit filed against Combs in September, accused him of engaging in sexual activities with her without her consent.
The musician was taken into custody by federal agents in a hotel lobby in September, facing accusations of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation for prostitution purposes.
Sex worker and ex-employee describe Diddy’s ‘manipulative’ behavior and drug issues
Just months earlier, CNN had aired a video showing Combs shoving, kicking, and dragging his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, prompting a barrage of defenses from his legal team, who claimed he had become a reformed man after undergoing rehab.
A sex worker, who was allegedly involved in Combs’ so-called “freak offs” — drug-infused sexual escapades with questionable consent — disputed the narrative of a changed Diddy.
“He’s not changed. He just wanted to avoid jail. He’s the same as before,” said Nathan (a pseudonym), who spoke to Rolling Stone.
Nathan pointed to drug use as a significant element in Combs’ troubling conduct. “He’s a sex addict,” he remarked. “He’s a compulsive drug user. It’s a major factor in his issues.”
“I used to think it was wild — he would use drugs and blackout for half an hour,” he claimed. “He would take a considerable amount of ketamine and kind of pass out mid-way.”
Following the Cassie incident, Combs posted an apology video that has since been removed, referring to that experience as “rock bottom” and insisting he was “dedicated to bettering himself.”
Another former girlfriend, Kat Pasion, contributed to both the Rolling Stone article and the documentary “The Fall of Diddy,” made in collaboration with the publication. She reflected on Combs’ apology video, saying, “I knew he was being dishonest because I remembered my own experiences from 2021 — five years down the line.”
The documentary also features Phil Pines, a former assistant to Combs, who alleges he faced sexual harassment from the music mogul. Pines claims in both the documentary and related lawsuits that his responsibilities included providing drugs and sex toys for the “freak offs” or “Wild King Nights,” as well as managing the messy aftermath.
“It’s the epitome of manipulation; it’s grooming,” Pines expressed to Rolling Stone. “He knows how to make you prioritize his world above yours, even when it harms you.”
Both ex-partners who spoke to Rolling Stone described Combs as having dual personas.
“He was incredibly sweet. We shared personal stories about our pasts,” the unnamed ex-girlfriend recounted, noting that a darker side gradually surfaced. “There were moments that made me genuinely fear for my life,” she revealed.
“The person I loved and cared for like family— I’m discovering more each day that he is actually a monster,” she shared. “I made excuses for (his) drugging and assaulting of me…. I’m realizing I may not have truly known him and that I was manipulated.”
Using coercive language and dispatching staff to her home, the woman alleges Combs pressured her to be available whenever he wanted and suggested involving others in their sexual activities.
“I feel like the evil side of him emerged during these wild encounters fueled by drugs,” she explained.
Diddy likens himself to R. Kelly, ex confirms: ‘We all have a bit of R. Kelly in us’
Pasion, who first encountered Combs in 2013 but didn’t engage romantically until five years later, recalled a moment that raised her suspicions. In 2019, while vacationing in the Bahamas, they watched “Surviving R. Kelly,” a documentary focusing on Kelly’s alleged sex trafficking behaviors, together.
“He remarked, ‘There’s a little bit of R. Kelly in all of us,'” Pasion recounted. “I couldn’t believe he said that—there is NOT a bit of R. Kelly in all of us.'”
From that point on, their relationship faltered, as she accused him of assaulting her in 2021. When she distanced herself from him, he reportedly threatened to have her deported to Canada.
“That’s his established pattern of behavior that’s persisted for decades,” she shared in the documentary. “He manipulates with his power and resources, thinking that can heal the hurtful things he does to others.”
The article also recounts Combs’ 2022 holiday in the Caribbean while filming a reality series for Hulu called “Diddy+7,” which has since been canceled and hasn’t aired.
In an April lawsuit, yacht stewardess Grace O’Marcaigh painted a darker picture, claiming the vacation was a “debauched” horror show filled with sex workers, spiked drinks, and distressed women. She accused Combs’ oldest son, Christian, of drugging her and attempting to force her into sexual acts.
One anonymous crew member corroborated O’Marcaigh’s account, remarking on the oddity of filming a documentary simultaneously with the chaotic events. “He would act differently in front of the cameras and then revert to another personality,” they shared. “He was under the influence of some substance. We can’t identify what it was, but his shifting personalities felt bizarre.”
Currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, Combs is set to face trial later this year, likely arguing that many of the depicted sexual encounters were consensual.
As lawsuits continue to accumulate, the music mogul persists in claiming his innocence, enlisting his family for support as he readies for a challenging legal battle.
“I know he’s determined to fight until the end, and that’s expected because he yearns for his freedom,” Pines told Rolling Stone. “However, true freedom comes from honesty and taking responsibility.”
