Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders to Meet with NFL Teams, Skipping East-West Shrine Bowl
Colorado’s quarterback Shedeur Sanders has decided not to take part in the East-West Shrine Bowl practices or the game itself, but he will be meeting with NFL scouts in Denton, Texas.
Sanders will engage only in meetings, having already spoken with representatives from the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and New York Giants, as reported by ESPN. Notably, these three teams hold the top three picks in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft, which is set to take place on April 24 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
During his 45-minute meeting with the Titans, there was a surprise FaceTime call from his father, Deion Sanders, who is a coach at Colorado.
“He’s composed and carries himself maturely,” Titans coach Brian Callahan told ESPN regarding Sanders. “You can sense he’s been in the spotlight and knows how to manage it.”
In the 2024 season, Sanders threw for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions for the Buffaloes. He is highly anticipated to be among the top quarterbacks chosen and is likely a contender for a top-5 or top-10 pick in the draft.
The first day of practices for the 100th annual East-West Shrine Bowl took place on Saturday, with the game scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Thursday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Sanders is also expected to hold a media session on Saturday afternoon.
The East-West Shrine Bowl features leading senior players competing against each other, allowing 100 prospects to display their skills during a week of practice leading up to the game.
