Simone Biles Makes First Pitch at Houston Astros MLB Game
Simone Biles is well-known for her impressive collection of Olympic medals.
But the celebrated athlete is also becoming familiar with the MLB pitching mound. On Friday, she threw the ceremonial first pitch before the Houston Astros faced off against the Kansas City Royals. Biles, who grew up in Spring, Texas, is among the local Olympians recognized for their achievements.
Dressed in a light-blue Astros cap, a navy jersey numbered 24, and white footwear, Biles confidently tossed the baseball over the plate at Minute Maid Park. This time, she opted for a straightforward pitch, skipping any gymnastics routines that she had previously incorporated. Still, she managed to stick the landing perfectly.
The seven-time gold medalist had previously thrown out first pitches in both 2016 and 2019. Recently, she has also been seen cheering for her husband, Jonathan Owens, at Chicago Bears’ preseason matches.
Simone Biles’ Previous First Pitches
Before a game against the Seattle Mariners, Biles performed a somersault before delivering her pitch to home plate.
In 2019, during Game 2 of the World Series, she executed both a twist and backflip before throwing the ball towards home plate.
