Skai Jackson has welcomed her first baby into the world.

The 22-year-old Disney Channel alum shared the exciting news on Instagram Sunday, posting a picture of herself cradling her newborn, who was dressed in a stylish green-and-black plaid onesie and matching socks. While the post did not clarify the baby’s gender, Jackson’s caption hinted that the baby’s name might be Kasai.

In November, Jackson revealed to People magazine that she was expecting a child with her boyfriend, who remains unnamed in the media.

“I’m so excited to start this new chapter of my life—embracing motherhood while also exploring new acting opportunities,” she stated at that time. “My heart feels so full!”

Jackson rose to fame for her role in the Disney Channel show “Jessie,” which ran from 2011 to 2015. She reprised her role as Zuri Ross in the spin-off series “Bunk’d” and made appearances on other Disney Channel favorites such as “Austin & Ally,” “Good Luck Charlie,” and “K.C. Undercover.”

In 2020, she participated as a contestant on the 29th season of “Dancing With the Stars” and recently starred in the thriller film “The Man in the White Van.”

In a TikTok video shared on Sunday, filmed while she was still pregnant, Jackson documented her preparations for the hospital, showcasing the packing of her delivery bag.

“It’s all packed and big, and I’ll catch up with you all once my baby arrives,” she said, completing her packing routine.

The actress received an outpouring of love and support from fans and friends, including fellow former child star Keke Palmer, who expressed her excitement with heart eyes emojis.

Last August, Jackson made headlines when she was arrested under suspicion of domestic battery following a disagreement with her boyfriend. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated to the Los Angeles Times that “based on the initial investigation, Ms. Jackson was identified as the primary aggressor” in the situation. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and Jackson faced no charges.

“Skai is relieved that the investigation concluded it was just a misunderstanding,” her representative informed People in September. “We are thankful that the DA swiftly decided not to pursue any charges and Skai is ready to move on from this matter.”
