Embrace Social Media Mindfully: Strategies to Alleviate Online Anxiety

Young people's mental health may depend on how they use social media, rather than how much time they spend using it. Psychology researchers tried an experiment with three groups. They asked one group to stay off social media. They taught another group how to use it more constructively. The third group stuck with their usual

Sofía Vergara Opens Up About Concealing Her Curves for the ‘Griselda’ Character

Sofía Vergara explains her choice to conceal her curves for ‘Griselda’ role

Sofía Vergara is well aware of her stunning looks, but she had to tone down her glamorous style for her latest role.

In a recent conversation with Variety, Vergara discussed her physical alteration for her role in Netflix’s “Griselda,” where she takes on the character of Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco in this crime series.

“She may not be a traditional beauty, but the real Griselda Blanco had a certain kind of allure that I needed to portray,” Vergara explained.

However, she noted that her iconic curvy shape was a challenge in developing the character’s appearance.

“I didn’t want the natural curves typical for Latin women to be noticeable,” Vergara admitted. “I had to find ways to keep my backside from moving too much, and I ended up wearing an uncomfortable bra.”

“I also had to cover my slim arms because I don’t look imposing when I have these thin arms.”

Vergara has previously shared her thoughts on body image and the cosmetic enhancements she’s received.

“I’ve been using Botox for a while now, mainly in my neck and around my eyes,” Vergara told Allure back in May. “I’m not a fan of fillers. At my age — at that time, 51 — I believe it won’t really make you look younger.”

She continued, “I plan to undergo every kind of plastic surgery when I feel ready. I wish I had more time to recover; otherwise, I would have already done some procedures. But being in front of the camera means I can’t just go through surgery and then hide away for weeks.”

Sofía Vergara shares a laugh with ‘Modern Family’ co-star Ed O’Neill about a potential reboot

Vergara would relish the chance to reconnect with the Pritchett family, but insists her TV husband should be part of it.

Having played Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in ABC’s “Modern Family” from 2009 to 2020, she expressed interest in the notion of a reboot of the popular sitcom.

“I would love to be back on that set,” Vergara shared with Variety. “It would be so much fun. Perhaps a TV movie?”

Despite no plans for a revival as of now, the “America’s Got Talent” judge, age 52, mentioned that she and co-star Ed O’Neill, 78, who played her husband Jay Pritchett, often joke about a potential sequel.

“I tell Ed, ‘Don’t kick the bucket. If we do the sequel, it might take some time, and you’re the eldest among us,’” Vergara quipped. “‘You can’t be dead!’”
