A South Carolina woman celebrates her second lottery win in two years: ‘I broke into a dance’
After scoring a $1 million win two years ago, a woman from South Carolina has struck gold once more, this time winning $300,000 in the South Carolina Education Lottery.
The lucky winner chose to stay anonymous and shared with the South Carolina Education Lottery that her first victory was a “huge surprise,” but the second win caught her off guard even more.
“I began dancing in my office,” she exclaimed to the lottery officials. “It was exhilarating!”
According to the South Carolina Education Lottery, she triumphed against odds of 1 in 700,000 to secure the $300,000 prize from the ‘$300,000 Gold Rush’ game, with two top prizes still remaining unclaimed.
This latest win mirrored her first, as detailed in the lottery’s news release.
“On her way to work, she purchased a $10 ticket at King Fuel on Two Notch Rd. in Columbia,” the release stated. “While seated at her desk, she scratched off the winning ticket and tucked it away in her purse.”
She prefers to keep her winnings private
In contrast to her previous win, this time the woman didn’t rush to cash in her ticket. Instead, she waited until the following morning to bring her ticket back to the same clerk who sold it to her. As a result, King Fuel received a $3,000 bonus for selling the claimed ticket, according to the news release.
<p“I’m not telling anyone about this win, not even my coworkers,” she stated.
“I’m aiming for a third win,” she added.
