Newly Revealed Jerseys for the St. Louis Blues vs. Chicago Blackhawks Winter Classic Outdoor Game
On Wednesday, significant details were shared regarding two major NHL events set for the 2024-25 season.
Fanatics released a video showcasing the jerseys that the St. Louis Blues and Chicago Blackhawks will don during the Winter Classic, which will take place in an outdoor setting at Wrigley Field on December 31.
As stated in a news release:
“The Blackhawks’ NHL Winter Classic uniform features a traditional lace-neck collar, reminiscent of the sport’s early beginnings, in a vintage cream shade that reflects the Original Six era’s nostalgic feel. Unique touches include the Chicago flag’s stars on the front crest and subtle pinstripes incorporated into the back numbers, honoring Chicago’s rich baseball legacy.
“The Blues’ NHL Winter Classic uniform celebrates the team’s hockey history. Notably, this is the first time the Blue Note won’t be the main design on the chest. The font and numbers take inspiration from a prototype Blues jersey from 1966 that was never used, featuring a newly styled vintage ‘Blue Note’ on the shoulder. Additionally, fleur-de-lis designs are included on the inside back neck and hem loop labels as a tribute to St. Louis.”
This Winter Classic marks the first return to the Chicago Cubs’ home ground since 2009.
Furthermore, the league alongside the NHL Players’ Association announced that the roster for the 4 Nations Face-Off will be revealed on December 4. Six players have already been named, with the rest of the 20 skaters and three goalies to be disclosed on that date.
The rosters for Finland and Sweden will be released at 2 p.m. ET (NHL Network, ESPN’s SportsCenter), while the USA (TNT) and Canada (Sportsnet) rosters will follow at 6:30 p.m. ET.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from February 12-20 in Montreal and Boston.
