Steven Stamkos contributes two assists in the Lightning’s 3-2 overtime victory against the Predators
In their recent game, the Nashville Predators faced a 4-3 defeat against the Dallas Stars during their home opener.
This loss overshadowed a noteworthy return for Steven Stamkos to Amalie Arena, where he achieved a season-high of two assists on six shots.
After initially falling behind 2-0 to the Lightning, the Predators battled back in the second period with goals from Ryan O’Reilly and Gustav Nyquist. In the third period, the Predators had several chances to take the lead, but Tampa’s goaltender, Andrei Vasilevskiy, stopped 35 shots during the match.
Nick Paul’s decisive goal in overtime arrived just over three minutes into the extra period, marking Tampa’s sixth win this season.
The Predators (3-5-1) will take a two-day break before they meet Edmonton at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday. Meanwhile, Tampa (6-3-0) will head out for a game against Colorado on Wednesday.
