Numerous musical icons are rallying behind the vice president as the 2024 presidential election approaches.

The campaign for Kamala Harris is turning into a vibrant celebration of music.

Music legends, including Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Ricky Martin, and Christina Aguilera, have stepped up to showcase their support for the vice president through a series of performances leading up to the 2024 presidential election on Tuesday. Harris is competing against former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee.

These artists not only entertained audiences nationwide but also elaborated on their reasons for voting for Harris. “Kamala Harris stands for all of us, for unity and for every American,” Martin told a Philadelphia crowd, while Aguilera encouraged attendees to “vote for freedom.”

In a previous statement to Rolling Stone, Martin expressed his support for Harris, emphasizing the critical stakes for Latinos in this election. “Latinos can play a pivotal role in securing a victory for Vice President Harris, who stands with us and will fight for us as president. I couldn’t be prouder to join her tonight in Philadelphia,” he shared.

Throughout her campaign, Harris has garnered support from numerous pop music legends, including Megan Thee Stallion, Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé, Charli XCX, and Cardi B, who also spoke at a recent rally in Wisconsin.

“Like Kamala Harris, I have faced being the underdog,” Cardi remarked during her speech at Wisconsin State Fair Park. “Women often have to work ten times harder and do ten times better, yet people still question our success.”

Philadelphia showcased an array of Puerto Rican talent that evening. Prior to Ricky Martin’s exhilarating performance, Fat Joe took to the stage and proudly stated, “Yo soy Boricua, para que tu lo sepa,” which means “I’m Boricua, just so you know.”

He continued, “I heard there was a need for Puerto Rican representation in Philly, and I’m thrilled to be here to show our pride. Tonight is about that.”

The New York rapper also mentioned his reasons for supporting Harris as the next president. “Kamala Harris is for us—she unites everyone: Black, white, big, small, Latino, you name it. I refuse to sell my soul for anyone. I am here advocating for her because I genuinely believe she is the one,” Fat Joe said.

At the Philadelphia Museum of Art, in an event also featuring Oprah Winfrey, Martin energized the crowd with hits like “Livin’ la Vida Loca.” He urged attendees, “Vote to protect our democracy; voting for Kamala is key.”

Lady Gaga, donned in a leather jacket, introduced Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff while delivering an emotional version of “God Bless America.”

“Historically, women haven’t had a voice in this country. We’ve raised families and supported men, yet tomorrow women will play a role in making crucial decisions,” Gaga remarked, expressing her belief that Harris would be a president for everyone.
