Revolutionary Benchmarking Breakthrough Tackles the Toughest Quantum Challenges

Predicting the behavior of many interacting quantum particles is a complicated process but is key to harness quantum computing for real-world applications. Researchers have developed a method for comparing quantum algorithms and identifying which quantum problems are the hardest to solve. The Daily Money: It’s Now Simpler to Cancel Subscriptions

Have you ever found yourself stuck paying for a subscription or membership that you don’t want or need anymore? Canceling your gym or streaming service just got a bit simpler.

This Wednesday, the Federal Trade Commission rolled out a “click to cancel” rule, which mandates that companies must make the cancellation process as easy as the sign-up process.

If you signed up online, you can now click a button to cancel. If you joined in person, you can cancel either online or by calling. The FTC insists that the cancellation should be “at least as easy” as signing up, with no hidden pitfalls.

Biden Highlights Student Loan Relief

With less than three weeks to go before Election Day, the White House aims to navigate through a maze of legal disputes regarding its student loan forgiveness strategy by focusing on new relief efforts that amount to billions of dollars.

President Joe Biden celebrated the latest announcement of debt cancellation – a total of $4.7 billion benefiting over 60,000 student loan borrowers, as confirmed by officials – claiming it as a significant achievement in his efforts to improve the Public Service Loan Forgiveness initiative, reports Zachary Schermele.

This upcoming Thursday’s announcement is set to increase the total number of borrowers who have had their loans forgiven under the PSLF program to over 1 million. This milestone comes after years of complaints regarding mismanagement of the program. It also highlights the Democrats’ desire to show they are actively working to fulfill their promises of student loan relief as the presidential election nears.

The phone was out of service.

After Hurricane Helene, power and cell services were disrupted for a couple of days, and Jeff Twersky was attempting once again to find a connection, Felecia Wellington Radel reports.

Twersky, 69, was with family and friends in Weaverville, North Carolina, during the hurricane. Roads were blocked, water was dwindling, and cellphone connectivity was severely limited.

On the night of September 28, he stepped outside, hoping that he could get a better signal late at night on his iPhone 16, and suddenly, he was able to connect.

Many newer smartphones now feature a “satellite SOS” option, which allows users to send text messages even without cellular or Wi-Fi service.
