Subway Teams Up with Oreo for a New ‘Iconic’ Footlong Cookie
The beloved cookie of milk lovers has inspired Subway’s latest footlong cookie flavor.
On Thursday, the Oreo footlong cookie became available at Subway restaurants across the country, launching more than a year after the concept was initially revealed. A Subway representative informed YSL News that the chocolate chip cookie footlong quickly transitioned to a permanent menu item after its introduction.
Since its launch in December 2023, over 13 million footlong cookies have been sold, as revealed in a Subway press release. Due to “unprecedented demand” for the $5 treat, Subway faced challenges in keeping up with orders and restricted online purchasing.
This new treat features Subway’s chocolate chip cookie dough mixed with Oreo pieces and a topping of vanilla cream. Like the chocolate chip footlong cookie, it’s conveniently “served warm and ideal for sharing.”
“Subway collaborated closely with Oreo to craft something that fans of both brands will adore – a remarkable fusion of our popular double chocolate cookie and the unique crunch of their famous chocolate cookie and cream filling,” said Paul Fabre, a Subway executive, in a statement. “With Oreo’s commitment to quality ingredients and robust flavor, they are the perfect partner for Subway’s inaugural Footlong Cookie collaboration.”
Here’s everything you need to know about Subway’s latest footlong cookie and how to get one.
How to Purchase Subway’s New Footlong Oreo Cookie
You can buy the Oreo footlong cookie via the Subway app or at your local participating Subway restaurant.
Initial Announcement of Subway’s Cookie Happened in December 2023
Cookie enthusiasts got an exclusive “limited preview” of the footlong cookie during National Cookie Day in December 2023. Customers in cities like Chicago, Dallas, Miami, and New York City who purchased a footlong sub received a complimentary footlong cookie.
In January 2024, the sandwich chain then made the footlong cookie available nationwide, coinciding with the debut of other items like the $2 Cinnabon footlong churro and the $3 Auntie Anne’s footlong pretzel.
Nine months later, they released a holiday version of the footlong cookie called Double Chocolate Peppermint.
